Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Islamabad

Upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by the Pamir Crest Adventure Tours team. After a smooth transfer to your hotel, you’ll have time to relax and recover from your journey.

In the evening, attend a detailed tour briefing session conducted by your guide. This session covers road conditions, weather expectations, cultural etiquette, and photography tips for blossom season.

If time permits, enjoy a short orientation drive in Islamabad, known for its clean layout and scenic Margalla Hills backdrop.

Overnight: Islamabad

Day 2Islamabad to Chilas

After an early breakfast, depart for the north via the Hazara Motorway, gradually transitioning into the mountainous terrain of Karakoram Highway (KKH).

As you leave the plains behind, the landscape shifts dramatically into rugged cliffs and deep river valleys. Travel alongside the mighty Indus River, one of the longest rivers in Asia.

Depending on road conditions and season:

Babusar Pass route (summer) offers lush alpine scenery

KKH route (spring) provides dramatic rock formations and river views

Multiple scenic stops are included for photography and rest breaks.

Drive time : 10-12 hours

Overnight: Chilas

Day 3 Chilas to Hunza

Today is one of the most spectacular drives of the tour. Continue north on the Karakoram Highway toward Hunza Valley.

Route highlights:

Stop at the junction of three great mountain ranges (Himalaya, Karakoram, Hindu Kush)

Viewpoint of Nanga Parbat (8,126m), the “Killer Mountain”

First glimpse of Rakaposhi (7,788m)

As you approach Hunza, the valley opens into a breathtaking panorama of snow-capped peaks and blossoming orchards.

Day 4Hunza Valley blossom exploration

A full day dedicated to exploring Hunza’s iconic heritage and blossom-covered villages.

Morning visits:

Baltit Fort – a 700-year-old royal residence

Altit Fort – the oldest fort in the region

Walk through the Altit Royal Garden, one of the best places to witness apricot blossoms in full bloom and stroll through the altit bazar.

Afternoon:

Stroll through Karimabad bazaar

Interact with locals and explore traditional handicrafts

Evening:

Day 5Nagar Valley and Hopper Glacier

Continue through a series of tunnels along the KKH to reach:

Gulmit village witness the cultural old house of Gulmit Gojal

End the day at:

Passu Cones – one of the most iconic landscapes in Pakistan

Overnight: Passu / Gulmit

Day 7Khunjerav Pass Excursion

Early morning departure for a full-day excursion to Khunjerab Pass (4,733m), the highest paved international border crossing in the world.

Experience:

Dramatic high-altitude landscapes

Possible sightings of yaks, ibex, or marmots

Snow-covered plateau (depending on season)

Spend time at the Pakistan-China border before returning to Passu.

Overnight: Passu

Day 8Return Journey to Chilas

Begin the return journey along the Karakoram Highway.
