Nanga Parbat Expedition – Himalayas

45 Days

Starting from 10,500$

Nanga Parbat Expedition 2026-27 (Himalayas)

Climb the world’s ninth-highest peak with Pamir Crest Adventure Tours.

At 8,126 meters, Nanga Parbat rises almost 7,000 meters above the Indus Valley, one of the greatest vertical reliefs on Earth. Known as the “Killer Mountain” for its steep faces and unpredictable weather, it is one of the toughest 8,000-meter peaks. Our 50-day expedition is built for experienced high-altitude climbers who want a well-organized, fully supported attempt on the summit.

The journey
You arrive in Islamabad, where our expedition team takes care of permits, gear checks, and transport. From there you travel overland along the Karakoram Highway to Chilas and the trailhead, then trek through the pine forests and alpine meadows of Fairy Meadows to Base Camp beneath the Diamer face, with the massive wall of Nanga Parbat in view along the way.

On the mountain
Acclimatization rotations begin early in the expedition, with time spent building camps and adjusting to altitude. The summit window can span several weeks, depending on weather and how the team is performing. Experienced high-altitude guides, rope-fixing crews, and support staff work together to keep the climb as safe and efficient as possible.

Why climb with us

  • Karakoram and Himalayan expertise: Years of experience running 8,000-meter expeditions in Pakistan.
  • Local high-altitude team: Our Pakistani climbers and support staff have worked on Nanga Parbat, K2, Broad Peak, and the Gasherbrums.

Minimum Group Participants and holiday Status The required number of participant bookings i.e. six (6) registrations are required to conduct the “Fixed departures”. Although we receive several guests for each fixed departure, we feel that it is important to mention it. You can make sure of the trip status on this page. Status “available” means we are registering guests and “guaranteed” means we have crossed the required number of participants and the trip will commence on the given dates. We will constantly be in touch with all our guests who register. We will timely guide you step by step regarding visa applications and flight reservations to Pakistan etc.
Travel Documents & Visa In order to apply for visas to Pakistan, you generally need a passport expiring later than (6) months. For more reliable and updated information, we suggest you to contact the nearest Pakistani consulate or embassy in your country. We expect that you will take full responsibility for ensuring you have the right travel documents. Normally if you are visiting non-EU countries, you must check for 2 vacant pages in your travel document (passport) for every country you plan to travel. A tourist visa (visit visa) is required to come to Pakistan for trekking. People on work visas (already in Pakistan/abroad) require a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) which normally takes up to 6 weeks. The requirements and fee for tourist visas to Pakistan is normally around 200 USD but for accurate information you should consult Pakistani consulates nearby. To apply for a tourist visa, you will need a Letter of Invitation from our company and sometimes a duplicate (copy) of the “government trekking permit” for the group, processed by us. We will help you with all necessary documents to obtain the visa once you register with us.

Let's talk! We're here to navigate your queries and guide you further.
Important Notes
  • Why should you register very early?

    1. Team building: It takes time to formulate a good team. We go through all incoming applications and formulate the best team of mountaineers (on the basis of experience). Although our vet process is not very strict, our top priority is always the safety of fellow climbers. We will not accept all applications only to maximize the number of the mountaineers.

    2. Logistics: Our climbing adventures involve a lot of logistics. This includes reserving/assigning high altitude porters, guides and other staff in advance. It also involves a lot of procurement (equipment, food etc). This is not possible during the last hours. During winters expeditions, most of the supplies are transported to base camps two to three months prior to the expedition because winters in the mountains of Pakistan are very harsh and it becomes almost impossible to for porters to walk through the trail with heavy supplies.

    3. Climbing Permit: Pakistani government tourism laws require tour operators to submit applications for climbing (along with all documents e.g. passport copies, photos, etc) at least 55 days prior to arrival in Pakistan.

4.Domestic Flights: We might not be able to get you on the domestic flight to Skardu if you do not pay your deposit on time. Domestic flight seats are sold very fast way ahead of time because there are only two flights to Skardu during peak season. This is a very serious concern.

    Other Notes

    • Pamir Crest Adventure Tours highly recommends trip cancellation insurance for all expeditions
